Of course, I shouldn't have done it, because, becauuuse, I'm now never going to finish Heart of Crappiness Darkness before the holidays are out, and we all know it. However, that's beside the point, because I'm not thinking about school, makes me feel icky.
But yes, after much delay, I finally got my hands on a copy of Interview With The Vampire, and, being the situation as it was, dutifully bought it. [Money is a wonderful thing] But yes. Am much, much enjoying it, and have decided to at least attempt to force myself to read HOD, and attempt to impose upon myself a "For every two chapters of HOD, you may read 50 pages of IWTV" even in saying it, I know it's not going to happen, however. It's nice to be able to say I at least considered trying.
Situations look bleak for any chances of goings-out, which, I suppose, *grudgingly* is fitting for this particular part of my life. [or considerable lack thereof] after all, I still have you, don't I livejournal? *hugs livejournal* [now is not the time to shut down or crash, livejournal, trust me on this]

Date: 2004-07-19 05:22 pm (UTC)it requires a detailed understanding, and the ability to answer an essay question that could be on any aspect of the book. well there are four essays to choose from, and those four essays have to apply to every prose text on the year 12 TEE lit syllabus for the whole state, so everyone sitting the year twelve english lit exam, no matter what texts they studied, has the same choices of question. there's no extracts or anything, you have to rely entirely on memory and understanding
it's inhumane. talk about cruel and unecessary punishment

Date: 2004-07-20 05:24 am (UTC)I've decided the only redeeming trait of heart of darkness is that it's not as long as Tess of the D'Urbervilles, and so, is because of this, a better book. But it's not much, is it?
Wow, that's super-luck, happened to me in the last exams, kind of (we had practise exam questions, did a practise essay beforehand with some friends, and whadaya know, the essay turns up in the exam. heh.)
We're sort of looking at all aspects of it, in particular, race. However, we're also looking at the role of Women, [I think]. We haven't officially started HOD yet, I just have to read it in these holidays. *twitch* As if it weren't enough to give us an essay to write. (Bah!)
