mother duck said Quack, quack quack quack.. You all know how this story ends. Tragic, wot? Anyway, saw Troy, twas good. *wibbles* Hector!! *cries* It makes me sad. Full. Sadful.
No problem. Well, I don't know. There is a Hero by the name of Achilles in the normal tale, with a pretty important part. Tell me: is there a heroine by the name of Xanthe or Cassandra? Which side of the field are you getting the story from?
I saw the movie the other day. I think I need to go back to the old Greek mythology. There is no heroine, apart from Helen, who isnt really a heroine... Was Archilles instumental in the battle? Cos he was in the movie, tho they didnt go into his heel thing.
He was pretty immensely instrumental in the battle, since he was the best Greek hero by far - son, if I recall, of Zeus and a nymph. Okay, I see. Maybe my suspicions were unfounded, then. I would have liked a closer examination of Cassandra, daughter (#4/50, was it?) of Priam.
They didnt mention Archilles' parents more than in passing unfortunately, I would have liked to see their take on it. It is mentioned that his mother was a goddess (possibly), and that his father is dead, but all in passing.
Very strange indeed, since in the original tale Thetis, the river nymph and his mother, actually intercedes before the gods a couple of times in his behalf.
No problem. That site has a very good number of books whose copyright has expired. Try, for instance, Charles Dickens' Little Dorrit, or Jane Austen's Persuasion.
*realises that commenting at the end of a thread may be slightly inethical..* Heheh. For some reason, I find the idea of copyright expiration hugely amusing. The year copyright expires on a piece of [decent] literature comes around, and people fall on it like a pack of rabid dogs... muahahahah....
