Two things which I guess are kind of related. Kind of related in that, you don't want to break the egg yolk when you put it on the frying pan (otherwise what is the damn point?) and you don't want to break your head when you're on a motorcycle.
Closely related, right?

I thought I should put some effort into an LJ post because I haven't in a while. I'm all out of amusing anecdotes though, the rest will be my usual boring rambling.

So I've been thinking about things.

Firstly I think I'll make a portfolio website, and then showcase my stuff. Architecture things, and also some normal art maybe, and.. other.. things? I don't know. I don't really feel a great deal of confidence about any of my architecture things yet, but other arts aren't really relevant.  But I like them, so I guess I'll put them up.
I was thinking in the car today about what to call said portfolio website. I thought of the route that [livejournal.com profile] marxipan_xlii took, which is using your own name, but Marie has an awesome and unusual name, which is memorable and distinctive. While I like my name, it probably isn't too memorable. I was thinking about my very first blog name (and it's now my gmail login) Luin Nixe. It means Blue Glacier (well, Ice) in Quendi. I really like the sound of the word "glacier," so I think I might go with glacial or something like that as a URL. Glaciertecture was a silly, silly idea that I entertained for about 30 seconds. It's just too... silly. I mean, Glacial might not be perfect, but it will do for at least the next 3 years until I have to start doing something more srs. Or maybe I don't. Maybe I could have glacial.architecture in 3 years. Actually I like that.

Ok, so I was about to explain why I was thinking I could justify 'glacial' as a url So I decided to relate it to several things:
Firstly, glaciers are ancient, ever-changing things. Giant masses of ice that have endured, probably, the passage of thousands of years. They change slowly, and they hold information about times long past. In a way you could say that they "remember" things. Since I want to reference a lot of history in my architecture, this is somewhat relevant.
They're also, I think, very beautiful. They respond to the environment, whilst remaining distinct and recognisable. Relevant again, because I want to design buildings that suit their environment, and that over time will be able to change with it, rather than resisting change and having to be demolished. But at the same time, I want to leave my mark.
Finally, and the most cheesy of all of these cheesy ideas, is that glaciers are disappearing because of climate change. I want to design sustainable buildings which have a minimal impact upon the environment.

Also it might encourage me to do more art. I'm really... sad, I guess, that I haven't really been drawing much at all lately. My dragons should not only be in the margins of my lecture notes!

I'm drawing some pictures.
Actually I thought I might kind of borrow [livejournal.com profile] penchaft's idea and draw little pictures for people for Christmas. If you would like a picture of a thing, asks me! :) Some people will be getting things anyway.
(It's an excuse to practise with my copics)

Is it strange that I really want to draw a four legged raven thing? Some kind of raven... horsey beast. I don't really know. I've been reading this art book by John Howe and my Manga Matrix thing. So I blame them. I think it would be an elf-horse thing.

ALSO, also, how do you get itunes to attach album art to your albums?

Oh yeah, and I'm kind of sick. It's really lame.

iTunes

Two ways (iirc): drag album art into the area where it says "drag album artwork here" (tedious) or if you have an iTunes account thing, right click/equivalent and select "get album art". This doesn't seem to work for all albums, I guess they have to be in the iTunes store for it to work? It doesn't work for most of my Beatles stuff (annoyingly).

Thanks!
I think I will have to activate an iTunes account thing. (Muuuuuum can I use your credit card? No, I'm not going to actually use your credit card)
Does that mean that the iTunes store doesn't have Beatles stuff? Because that is a travesty. Biggest music store in the world, my foot.
Maybe you can drag album art the tedious way for things that aren't in the ipod store?

Thanks again ^_^
Also you looked very pretty in your Mermaid Dress! I don't know if I mentioned that at Danica's party. :)

The other way to get around the iTunes account thing would to be to buy the smallest iTunes voucher ($15?). I don't know how much the album art is actually worth to you, though!

Ummm I remember there was some ...thing about the Beatles and iTunes and iTunes not being able to buy the license or SOMETHING.

Yeah, I just haven't got around to putting all the album art in. I got bored with it :P.

Awww thanks! Your eye makeup was striking! It was pretty awesome!!!

I think I'll do that! I can get them for 5% off at work so it's not too bad! I can get them for you at that price too if you buy iTunes vouchers,(?) by the way.

Ohhh. Actually now that you mention it I think I can remember something odd about that too. Someone from the Beatles disagreed with the idea of iTunes or something?

Haha, it does seem pretty tedious. Just like getting rid of song duplicates. Ughhhhhh.

No worries! :D thanks very much, that was my favourite part of my whole outfit. ^_^

!!
I am going to call my architecture friend RIGHT NOW and make him tell me an answer.
Is it okay if I do come? I would like to!
Err, I'm at work all day tomorrow though, so is it okay if I bring some kind of cop-out plate brought from Woolworths or something? Also I'm at work until 5 so I will be late!
