MENTAL RAAAAAAAAY

ithikaOh my god, Mental Ray is so awesome.
(Yes, it's more boring architecture talk, but this time there are three dees. :))
Basically I'm really, really, really happy with how this turned out. There were some issues (the major one being that the exterior brick material didn't work, and I don't know why...), but overall I think it's a big improvement on my last render, which, though I like it, isn't nearly as convincing as this. The materials in this one are so much better, the light diffuses better,there is actually a sun... I could go on for some time about why I like this one more than the other.
See the wall which is the back of the first desk? Opinions please : Is polished concrete (what you see there) nice, or would marble be better?
I used concrete because polished concrete is kind of nice. It's also much, much cheaper than Marble. However, once a fire station is built it's theoretically going to be in use for the next 25 years, so maybe a premium finish would be nice for them?
Also the door is pretty flat and unconvincing. I should set the windows further back into it, and maybe make some bevelled edges or something on the door. I don't know how to do that, but I'm sure Kate will. She knows everything.
