In a year that I don't recal, c. 4000 years ago, it took Pharoah (Oh god I know nothing now) Kafre (?? Or was it Khufu? I know it wasn't... Mlngioehgioehgf) (SP??) twenty years to complete the great Pyramid of Giza.
This building would be the largest manmade structure until 1887 - A FREAKING LONG TIME.

In the mid-1500s, it took some dudes 20 years to build St Peter's Cathederal on a more developed site with better tools and equipment.

But the biggest thing was that he had MILLIONS of people working on building the pyramids, wheras how many were there for the cathedral? Not quite as many.
