Wow
The HMS Victory is still alive, as is the Cutty Sark. But the HMS Victory owns more, and you should know why it 0wnZ more. That ship is over 200 years old, you realise. +200 years and it's still floating, for crying out loud. If that's not impressive, well, I just don't know what is.
Ok. So the Battle of Trafalgar [which is what makes the HMS Victory have more 0wnz4g3 than the Cutty Sark] was 200 years ago on the 21st Oct of next year, yes?
Wait.
The Victory was commissioned in 1778, launched 7 May 1765. That makes her 239 years old, or 226 years old, depending on how you reckon. Either way, that's a damn impressive age for a ship. Even cooler, she's still a flagship - the flagship of the Second Sea Lord and Commander in Chief Naval Home Command.
So what if it's in a dry dock? So what... Maybe it would still float. I think it would, it wouldn't be a flagship if it didn't, right?
And she has lots of guns.
Freaking 104 guns! Bloody hell!
Lower gun deck 30 x 32 pounder
Middle gun deck 28 x 24 pounder
Upper gun deck 30 x 12 pounder (long)
Quarter gun deck 12 x 12 pounder (short)
Forecastle 2 x 12 pounder (medium)
2 x 68 pounder carronade
Yes, yes. I know it's probably far from normal to be all excited about this, but
omg!
*cough*
Yeah. Since when have I ever claimed to be normal?
ooooh. The 32 pounders had a range of over 2 km. All of them ranged at over 1 km. Wowzers, but that's cool.
Muahahaah! 28 tons of shot were fired at Trafalgar. That's alotta cannonballs, folks.
But yeah, that's cool. Cool cool, even.
[I'm so going on a tall ship at the end of the year]
The Leeuwin has no guns, though, *poutage*, which is a little disheartening. And it's a barquentine, 1850's barquentine, not a Frigate [Omg... *ogles* coolest. damn. thing. ever.] Or a Brig [second coolest damn thing ever], but hell, it's pretty damn cool. Or a Ship. mm. Tall ships.
but that's not to say that barquentines didn't have their own ammount of 0wnzag3. They did. The Leeuwin II just doesn't have cannon.. *wibbles*
The Cutty Sark was a clipper.
Yeee... Schooners were unimpressive.
*Squeal* The Endeavour has serious 1337age.
AAH!
YOU CAN SAIL ON THE ENDEAVOUR!
Must go now. Going to take Bon to beach again.
Ocean!
HUZZAH!

Enjoy the excursion with Bonnie, and remember not to use appostrophes with date periods like the 1800s or the 1990s.

*nods* I did. Bonnie did too, and if she understood the concept of internet, computers, and people she can't see, she'd send her greetings to you.
Ah, thanks. [*cringe*]
