The Battle of Evermore, I've got to tell you, is one excellent song.
Note: If you have 1337 lyric-deciphering skills, and haven't read the books/seen the movie, it could be a spoiler. *shrugs* Perhaps.
Queen of Light took her bow
And then she turned to go,
The Prince of Peace embraced the gloom
And walked the night alone.
Oh, dance in the dark of night,
Sing to the morn-ing light.
The dark Lord rides in force tonight
And time will tell us all.
Oh, throw down your plow and hoe,
Rest not to lock your homes.
Side by side we wait the might
Of the darkest of them all.
I hear the horses' thunder
Down in the valley below,
I'm waiting for the angels of Avalon,
Waiting for the eastern glow.
The apples of the valley hold
The seeds of happiness,
The ground is rich from tender care,
Repay, do not forget, no, no.
Oh, dance in the dark of night,
Sing to the morning light.
The apples turn to brown and black,
The tyrant's face is red.
Oh the war is common cry,
Pick up you swords and fly.
The sky is filled with good and bad
That mortals never know.
Oh, well, the night is long
The beads of time pass slow,
Tired eyes on the sunrise,
Waiting for the eastern glow.
The pain of war cannot exceed
The woe of aftermath,
The drums will shake the castle wall,
The ringwraiths ride in black,
Ride on.
Sing as you raise your bow,
Shoot straighter than before.
No comfort has the fire at night
That lights the face so cold.
Oh dance in the dark of night,
Sing to the mornin' light.
The magic runes are writ in gold
To bring the balance back.
Bring it back.
At last the sun is shining,
The clouds of blue roll by,
With flames from the dragon of darkness
The sunlight blinds his eyes.
You know what it is, don't you. Oh, yes, it's a tribute to The Battle of Pelennor Fields
Led Zepellin is so cool
Today was a great day.
[ beware the mother sloth]
*sigh* I can't remember much else, sept that it's visible from space, but no-one knows about it because the aura of Sloth turns people into, well, Sloths, and when the space-men (that is the correct term for them) saw the mother sloth and sloth city from space they didn't say anything about it because they knew everyone would think they were crazy...
In other news, my Dad went to a christmas party today, and, I assume, probably drank a great deal too much. Heh.
My mum and I went to pick him up afterwards, and Andrew too.
It was soo funny!
Heh,on the way to Andy's place, the two of them were arguing like little kids, and Andy was giving my mum directions to his place, and a conversation like this occoured:
A: Turn right, right here. Bill [my Dad], Bill knows the shortcut, but I'm going to tell you the fast way.
D: That's not a fast way! I'd be there by now
A: No, no, this is the fast way. I only tell very few people this way. Not many mates know this way.
D: Turn, turn here
A: No, no, don't listen to Bill. Keep going straight.
D: It's not a fast way.
M: (can't remember)
A: Left here, left. It's coz he's a smoker.
D: What?
A: I'm not telling you the fast way unless you quit smoking
D: I can't!
A: I'm on your back every day, aren't I?
D: Yes, yes but
A: I bet the family's even worse
M: We've given up
A: Don't give up!
D: It's easy for you to say
A: Why?
D: Coz you've given it up!
A: And you can too
D: But you're young
A: I don't care, I don't care, if you hate me,
D: I don't hate you!
A: You do, you do, no, no, I don't care
D: I don't hate you, mate
A: You do, but I'm not going to stop, coz you're my mate
D: You're always on my back
A: I am, I am,
[etc]
And it went on like that... hah, very very funny.
And then we got to Andy's place, and he fell out of the car...
oh, it was very funny.
Heh, as you might expect, it's not the usual way for a 50-something-year-old and 30-something-year old to act, normally. HA! Funny stuff.
And for the rest of the day, I wrapped pressies, and played Zelda [WW]... muahhaah.
