Argh!

Does anyone know what channel/time the men's basketball will be on? Australia versus USA. I want to tape it because I can't watch it because I have to do studio, and also Gavin can't watch it because he's at some dinner thing being nice to newbie dentists or something.
I'm reasonably confident that it's going to be on 7 but I don't want to leave it to chance! This has been like the only thing I have actually planned to watch. Except for the gymnastics. Pretties!

Who starts things halfway through the second quarter? What the hell? Olympics coverage my ass, thanks for nothing 7! (And for softball? Or baseball? or whatever the hell kind of boring game it was?)
I know it's likely NONE of you, my readers, care, but what the hell!

To be fair, the outcome of the bb game has been known, since, like, 1900, whereas the outcome of the softball game was uncertain.

I suppose, but surely there is some source of amusement to be had in watching our team get their asses handed to them? (It's happening now. It's somewhat amusing.)

BUT I GUESS this is a valid point.
Softball is still dumb though, and not even as brave as baseball. I mean, a soft ball, and underarm passing? I vote MOAR macross. Or Lacross. The hitting one.

I prefer waterpolo or volleyball to either.

Or, hell, synchronised diving. That is an awesome event.

Water polo!!

I can't like volleyball.. because all I can think of is hilariously injuring myself playing that game in highschool. Owwies!

Did you know that synchronised diving was apparently almost cut because it apparently didn't have enough public interest? I was shocked and stunned! It's an awesome sport.

It's not like the softball was a super-tight game against one of the biggest teams in the world and for the chance to go up against the only-other-big-team for the gold medal and went to FIVE EXTRA INNINGS to break the tie or anything.....

:P But it was softball! :P

I guess that's cool too.

Olympic coverage is on three channels here, and still all they seem to show is Judo. Although last night was pretty good, softball on one channel (I have to be honest...I wasn't sure who to support) baseball on another ping pong on a third channel and the only other channel was showing some other random international soccer game. (Japan lost everything except the ping pong. Actually I'm not sure about the baseball because I think baseball is the most boring sport ever invented) They kept changing over to the synchronised swimming too. Now there's an event.
Last night was pretty big for team games, and it is safe to say if Australia had started owning the dream team the coverage would have quickly changed over.

I'm sad that the Japanese women's volleyball team lost to Japan. There's something about watching tall athletic women jumping around.

I'd say the problem is entirely channel seven's for monopolizing the olympic coverage

the volleyball team lost to Brazil actually, not themselves....

The softball also had practically ZERO coverage of the preliminary rounds as opposed to the basketball, where the prelim games were shown.
Softball isn't going to be contested at the next Olympics *mutter mutter* so more coverage of it is perhaps not entirely unexpected.
Also. Softball is AWESOME. And Yay Japan winning the gold medal match 3-1!
