Strange and unusual places

(Procrastination leads to.)

Coolest thing in the entire Dick Smiths Catalogue.

Design incorporates the feature and shape of an apple
Why the hell wouldn't you?

TV screen can be concealed behind the doors
THE DOORS OF AN APPLE. Yes. Why haven't I thought of this before?

Oval shaped cover makes it easier to manage the cable
I'm not convinced, but okay, I'll take your word on this.

Silicone rubber and metal inner wire used stem & leaves for sturdiness & durability
Does that mean you can pick it up by the stem?

You cannot possibly conceive of how much I wish our store sold this item. If it wasn't listed as a no transfer item... SUCH ends I would go to, to get this thing.

The logic behind it is quite, I think, incredible.

"People don't want unsightly televisions fuglying up their (whatever) space. We should find a way to conceal it."
"A TV cabinet?"
"No, you fool! Why would you want a TV cabinet? That's only ADDING to the unsightly clutter."
"Don't TV cabinets allow you to conveniently house other things, too? Like your DVD player?"
"What if... what if the TV were in an apple, sir?"
"Go on..."
"That's... that's it."
"Amazing."

they also make fire engine and fluffy elephant tvs, and many others. Myer has/had them.

I heard there was a giraffe.
That would be so awesome.

Elephant would be pretty cool too. Although I don't know how much of a good idea a fluffy TV would be, mine all seem to attract dust..

I saw that in Myers in Perth last year.

Hell yes. The little lights at the corner of my vision have only recently faded.

I still don't know what Myer's Buying Office in Melbourne were smoking when they decided to put them on the TV/Hi-Fi range list. They didn't sell particularly well.

(Yes, they are definitely an alternative design that would appeal to a niche market, but the main targets for such pieces of electronic equipment are well-to-do Western-Suburbs type people with far too much money to burn)

Probably something not quite as strong as what the designers had.
