So Gavin and I had a Poirot marathon, the purpose of which was to see if we could beat Poirot to the solving of a murder case. We came up with some awesome theories... and were wrong every goddamn time. He keeps making stuff up, or being more observant than us or something. We were close - once. I like those movies though.

So the weekend was good, what did everyone do for Australia day? Gavin and I went to his mate's (Chris) place, which is a penthouse appartment on the South Perth Foreshore. O_O. It's not one of the ubernewzomgwhat ones, but it's pretty nice inside. However, we weren't allowed inside (....:() so we sat on the grass. It was funny, we decided to walk there from some place. Interesting that when driving from Rockingham to Perth in a nice air conditioned car you can forget about the heat. So we walked for an hour. In the midday sun. To this place. The best thing about the walk was that we went through an IGA and picked up some twinpoles and other icy poles. Delicicious.
Then A BARGE CAUGHT ON FIRE and I took photos. I also took photos of the fireworks. You can't really see the fire in my photos, but I know it's there.

I beat Gavin at a game of pool. Haha! Okay, so technically he lost -because the cue ball went in off the black - but I still won. The fact that I had only sunk one ball at that point is completely irrelevant. Because I won.

THE WEEKEND WAS SO HOT OMG.
Poker on Saturday night was fun, thankyou Emma/Sam/James :).

Cooked Pizza, it was glorious. Also cooked slashed roast lamb, on Sunday, which was also awesome. Went swimming! Naturally.

We built a giant castle on the beach, in the water. The first one was just a wall, then we built another wall to protect the first one from the waves, which turned into a kind of platformy thing. Then we collected rocks, and put the King on the highest point, with a circle of his guards around him, and then the other guys defended the second wall. There was also a beacon-fire next to the king (a flower), and then later, there were airborn attackers (thrown rocks) and an invading force (my collection of rocks), and then the king was usurped by a new king, and then later they ruled in harmony together.

Also, on Thursday night there was this Asian movie about some guy called Fat Sarge on SBS. IT DIDN'T MAKE ANY SENSE, WHY DIDN'T HE JUST REPORT THE GUN MISSING. OMG.

Alcoholsicles are pretty interesting. (frozen Cruiser/Breezer) the alcohol taste is really, really strong. Hoom.

I'm going to watch that new game show with the annoying host now, then I'm going to work. After, I will upload photos and put them in this entry! So watch this space!

Oooo Chris and I *love* Poirot! I know what you mean about never guessing what actually happened. I'm reading a bunch of Raymond Chandler 'Phillip Marlowe' novels at the moment and they're all exactly the same. He never lets you know what's happened until the last few pages of the last chapter, and it's always completely unexpected. If you haven't read any, it sounds like you'd love them.

Huzzah for Poirot fans! Just the books or the movies? Or both? Which movies? The ones we're watching are with David Suchet, who I think is my favourite Poirot.
Ooooh. I might have to try them out, thanks for the tip! :D

Do you freeze them in the bottle with a stick, and then break the bottle to get at them?

Oh noes! I had a chance to be like Bernard Black and I failed. :(

No, we poured them into these cups which have water inside them (well, Ice), then put the whole thing in the freezer.

Lol. Agatha Christie is a champ! I never guess it. It's always the person you least expect, or someone who you suspected in the start and then stopped suspecting for some reason. I figured out most of one case before the end, though. I can't remember which one. But I was proud.

Are you still living in Perth?
