NO QUARTER!!
Jul. 19th, 2006 04:25 pmDid you know that a Black Skull and Crossbones flag was actually a good thing (if you had no choice but to be coming across pirates), because it indicated that the Pirates would show mercy if you answered their demands without quarrel, whereas a red skull and crossbones indicated no quarter given - take no prisoners, leave none standing? Interesting, no?
By the way, I haven't felt like being on LJ lately, so I haven't replied to comments or really read anything lately, so I am sorry. But I'm going to start again now. My inbox is so full of crap, I may or may not reply to all me comments.. although I really know I should. Oh, well, I guess I will reply to them.
However, I feel like keeping some sort of chronicle of my life, and since I'm too lazy to actually write it, here I am.
I have had random pains in the right side of my jaw, in the joint bit. Gavin was concerned, but says it seems normal enough. Hm. I mention it now because it just happened again. Odd.
Had wonderful weekend. Went to Bunbury on Friday night (bus, yay). The movie was My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and though the whole thing wasn't shown (I seem cursed to endure half-movies or three-quarter movies on Transwa bus rides) I have to say I really, really do not see what all the fuss was about. A thoroughly average romantic comedy if you ask me.
Had something tasty for dinner, but I don't remember what it was. Er... maybe it was.. no, it wasn't Pizza, that was Saturday. Well, I apparently don't know. Yeah, total mind blank on that one. Oh wait, maybe we had tacos. Yes, I think we did. And theeenn on Saturday Gavin had work in the morning, and I think I might have still been asleep when he got back at 1.30. Hm. I'm not actually sure. I might have gotten up to read some more of The Da Vinci Code... hah! Memory much. But anyway, we went shoppin', fell victim once again to EB's big sale signs and got a (surprisingly scratch free) pre-owned version of Killzone, which is actually rather fun in terms of multiplayer.. We haven't tried the single player bit yet. Quite nice graphics, although the maps need a few more open spaces. And food. Mm. And Fruit Tingles! <3
Then we went on a drive to Wellington Dam (outside of Collie), with the intention of having a picnic. We found the free barbeques, and then decided to explore around. The Dam was very beautiful, as still on the surface as glass. Yes. I know glass doesn't really move. Also saw a maron. It fled. Then went adventuring through some rocks, just for fun. And it was. But by then it was getting a wee bit too late to have our picnic (neither of us like eating in the dark/being eaten by mozzies) so we headed back. Very nice view of Bunbury and the sunset-on-the-ocean from up in the hills. Oh yes! And some fun on a dirt road on the way back. Poor Gavin's Car. Played MK and Killzone when we got back, for quite a few hours. \o/
Then on Sunday, after glorious sleep in, we went to Myalup (sp??), where Gavin's family used to have a beach house. Ran around on the sand dunes, exhausting fun. Then refreshed ourselves with five dollars worth of coke - yes, just two cans. Have I mentioned that the town's sole shop is that deli? It is small. Then drove to Harvey, which was surprisingly small. Then we went to the Hand Made Cheese place, which sported (outside) 2 camels, 6 goats, 1 sheep and 4 horses. No cows. I hope they don't milk the Camels.
According to Gavin, the cheeeese was good, but not as good as good old Mainland Tasty.
Then on the way back we stopped in Brunswick to see the big cement Cow who had digimon tattoos and a skirt of Ants, and finally we saw Fergus the giant wood carved Bull. We think he was actually carved from one solid block of wood ('sept for his horns, but they probably came from the offcuts ofthe same piece, if you know what I mean). He was very serene. Hehe.
Then we went to... Hmm... a shopping centre with a very effective jingle, and got a free knife - FOREVER SHARP. Or something. We had fish'nchips for dinner, and played some more Killzone, Worms and Mortal Kombat.
Moooonday Gavin had work, so I read the Da Vinci code some more and slept altogether too much. Hee. Decided I would surprise Gavin by having started cooking dinner before he got home, but didn't finish in time... oh velllls. You see, Gavin is more often the cook than me. It was fun.
On the trainride home talked with a kindly old Lady who at the end of the train ride gave me mandarins and oranges. How nice. :)
Brought Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Man's Chest soundtrack yesterday, Not as good as Black Pearl soundtrack, and "He's A Pirate Remix" Is utterly detestable. Oh well.
Um. I slept in until 2pm today, felt very guilty. Booo to meeeeee.
Um. I'm going to go for a bike ride now, and then I'm going to play Wooooooooooooooooooow. Ithika has 10 gold. Yes, Trent *did* give me 5, but I think I must have earnt about 7 of my own gold, maybe. AH is fairly expensive to put your stuff into. Ithika is lvl 17!
Oh yes. UBER thanks to Trent, James and Danica who have all run me through instances (:D), given me items and stuff. And Uber thanks some more to James for the blue belt. I think I can wear it next level. Whee.
