The answer to your burning questions!!
May. 2nd, 2006 10:08 pmYes, the house in question was in fact built in 1925 (1925-6 to be pedantic about it)!!
This surprised me greatly, I must say.
Soo.. the winners are
maelkaan and
drayke_, and I'm awarding "first prize" to El because he commented first.
You're also both surprisingly correct, because it was indeed mid-1920s, and the construction did span over into '26. Yay!
imfamyanonymous, I award you the "response most like Ghan's" award, which is.. some form of.. er.. well... let's just say all of the prizes are of such immesurable value as to be completely intangible to prevent them from being stolen. :D
almighty_bean, I award you the prize which got it's name from "Red Faces" in Year 7 Camp.. Something along the lines of "Honorary Amazon-Godzilla" (Banana Ninja) award, for a shocking insight into the ultimate truth of the building. It is in fact a natural rock form from the distant planet of NInjas (Which is undetectable, such is its stealth.). The rock form is said to have been used for decades as some kind of Ninja base, since it (quite by accident) blends in stunningly with the surrounding area. NOble hearted Pirates attempted to Sack the Rock formation in the early 1720s, but due to lack of ocean and funding (rum shortage), the raid was a failure - and there was only one Ninja visible, or rather, there were no Ninjas visible. And pirates, though mighty and unafraid of losing limbs, know when circumstances (such as lack of rum) point towards a loss of Pirate glory and honour (booty).
...That got long quickly..
IN other news, I'm updating from the lounge room, using my family computer's nifty wireless mouse and keyboard. It's pretty much a token novelty most of the time, really, but considering that the couch is more comfortable than the computer chair in here, and that I"m typing this whole thing without being to see it, it's a pretty fun useless novelty.
THat's right! I'm not backspacin,g because... I want to see how well I can do without seeing the screen. Oh aye.
By the way, I'm enforcing upon myself some kind of hiatus to the internet, since I want to finish work stuffs and the internet is one gigantic, glowing, radioactive distraction. I'll be back in like a week or so, or maybe two days more than that. Err, I'd very much like to be greeted by a LEGION OF COMMENTS when I return, so that I may lay seige upon the bastion of angst that is.. er.. Livejournal... (which I happen to adore... or something_
Gah, clearly I'm going mad. but yes.
HIATUS. TILL NEXT THURSDAY EVENING. GHAN IS LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO BRAVE, MORE THAN OR EQUAL TO AFEARED OF FAILING
Thankyou, good night.
