*hangs head* I'm beginning to think that this autumn might in fact be a time when I spend more money on clothes than ever before.
Why?
Because apparantly, my three favourite things in clothes...
- stripes
- Victorian style thingies
- Military (naval, even) inspired jackets from just about my favourite eon ever as far as pretties are concerned
Are terribly in (thus readily avaliable), and actually being applied tastefully.
How do I know this?
When I brought 3 pairs of Jeans at once from Jeans West the other day I got a membership which lets me get delicious savings on their jeans (which are good jeans..)and other clothings, and they send me emails about things. And that's what the email told me. Not in so many words.

O_o it's odd. I've never wanted to buy the stuff that was really and truly "in" before. It's very odd. It'll also probably be expensive. Sigh. But I can't say no to velvet, and buttons, and brocade, and lace.
I just can't, god damnit.
I also can't say no to stripey scarves longer than I am tall.
It's not fair.
If Tricorn hats come into fashion, I may have to buy every one I can find, for me to have, then all the others, and destroy them, so that nobody can steal my favourite accessory away from me.

Someone! Make me a colourbar of tricorn hats that says "Tricorn hats are triangle love", or something. Just the hats. Yesss. Maybe some with feathers.
You know what would be a very cool thing? A small (smaller than my beloved Tricorn), cord tricorn hat. With some kind of ruffly thing along the edges. Something soft. But small, about 5mm thick. Or something. OH GOD, I'd never take it off.
I could be a fashion designer, and idulge all my excentricities, and make no money, but surround myself with outrageous and fantastic hats. Ones with gigantic feathers, but not in a ridiculous Melbourne Cup style, more in a "I am a Naval Admiral, foo" kind of style. And big, Napoleonic jackets. And brocade vests. And brocade corsets. And pantaloons. And doublets.
Okay... Maybe I could just be a tailor.
But It'd be fun to make them with modern things, btu the brocade and the brass buttons and the velvet can't go. Hm. It'd be a challenge. What would you make a doublet with? I don't know how to spell doublet, but semagic seems to think I'm right.
And those delightful boots, the ones with the leather that hangs back down to cover the buttons or buckle that holds it up. Oh yess. God I want some of them.

And those shoe sleeves, that cover the top of the shoe. And gloves. Button up gloves.

Now all I need is limitless funds and some kind of talent with clothes making. Le sigh.
