Today (except for the part spent in UniSFA, and the morning) was pretty lame.
I'm getting pretty tired of uni in general, and always feeling like I've done a buttload (hah, that is a terrible, terrible phrase and I promise I will probably never use it again) of work and getting the feeling from my teachermans that I haven't done enough. Also I'm tired of architecture. I really needed this break to be break-like but it's not really turning out that way, so, balls.

That's my new curse word by the way. It amuses me. It makes me think back to the days of Conker's Bad Fur Day. I'm sure anyone who played that game ever will know exactly what I'm thinking of. It also seems classier than actual swearing, though the reality of this is highly debatable.

(Also a possible hello to the community? I don't know if  I've posted before, but I've been lurking for a fair while if so... Anyway quick in-case intro: I'm Ghan, 3rd year architecture student at the University of Western Australia. Hi! My favourite architect is probably one out of Alvar Aalto, Rem Koolhaus, Toyo Ito or... someone else... I'm a big fan of classical Greek architecture, Ancient Egypt and the Baroque. Modernism is also pretty neat!)

Does anyone happen to have a dimension for a women's changing room? I have to put two into a locker room for my studio project and I forgot to go and get measurements while the shops were still open, haha. I think I can guess it would be about 1300x2000 (mm) for a modestly sized one? But I'm not really sure.
Metric or Imperial suggestions are equally welcome! I just need a basic idea.

Also what are some people's favourite neoclassical buildings, if any? It seems to be a bit of a neiche genre in Australia!

Thanks a lot in advance. :)

I finally managed to make my fire station look like the Parthenon. Well, somewhat. It definately has a classical feel now, and I'm slowly applying Vitruvian proportion to the plan and such. It's not as stupidly hard as I had first thought (because basically = rectangles.), which is nice.
Locker rooms are a pain in the butt though. Mixed use ones. You have to have cubicles, you see, and they can't just open out into anywhere because both sexes need their privacy.

And fire poles. Guh. I mean obviously they're awesome. Obviously. HOWEVER. They need their own little removed space from the rest of the circulation and room spaces, which is a pain. An awesome pain.

I'm also thinking of making a freize of part of the story of Prometheus. Out of plaster or concrete. I could probably use old ken or action man dolls as moulds, actually. Does anyone have some that they don't mind having mutilated? Otherwise I might get some from good Sammy's. I think it would be a cool way to get pointless kudos points. It might be half useful for sculpture too, but I doubt it because sculpture is a bit more abstract than Classical Grecian freizes.

Also Spore space tiem is pretty fun. I dunno though, I think it's still missing something? Also I don't have enough money to shoot lasers at mans or make planets more better. More money will come later right guys?

It's a pity that internet trolls don't come with the Three Billy Goats Gruff. That would be awesome.

P.S
Sweet Zombie Jesus, if there is anyone better at short, emotive 3d rendered cinematic trailers than Blizzard I really, really want to know.
Seriously.
Some of my favourites, for my reference as well as yours:

Arthas' Return To Lordaeron

God, I love everything about this video. The score is fantastic, it looks amazing. Seriously, it's hard to express this much love for something this abstract.
Actually if anyone has the soundtrack to Warcraft III or Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne I will come close to killing for it.
Even the scroll up to shadows part is classy, because you don't see any of the limitations of the technology - it's clever and it works.

The Burning Crusade Cinematic

Admittedly this gets a lot of squee just for the Illidan factor. But his voice is so great, it has so much restrained menace in it. And the Blood Elf scene is great. This one's not perfect, though: For example, random pointless troll scene, what?
And showing a Blood Elf healer is not exactly in the spirit of the race. Amusing that they didn't show a Blood Knight or a Space Shaman in the cinematic either. The Warloc v Murloc scene is amusing.

Wrath Trailer

I... I really like it. I mean it has a freaking Frost Wyrm in it. How can it not be awesome?

TECHNICALLY it is relevant, because 3D rendering is relevant to my degree and I DO have to do it for folio. Yes, I know that it's bad when I feel I have to justify my own thinly-veiled procrastination.

Particularly impressive in this latest video is the flames and the fur on Arthas' boots. The close up of the face is still their weakest point, but it's looking better than the previous ones and, obviously, is better than I could do.
