I thought Megamouth was extinct! This is pretty exciting. I guess I was wrong! (The hoax is awesome.)
Frilled Sharks are pretty awesome! It looks like a reasonably inefficient swimmer though, or it could be because this one was sick. The way its body is out of line with its tail seems like a pretty inefficient way of swimming. Its teeth are odd. Said to feed on sharks? Other sharks of its own species? I have a hard time imagining this thing catching a modern shark. (And it still exists, so one assumes that it would try to hunt them.)
Liopleurodon is the most awesome thing since the last really awesome thing that I mentioned. (Actually it is more awesome than many things, but whatever.)

Yesterday Gavin and I had the best fun ever. Quad Bikes!
Some of Gavin's fellow dentists had a barbecue yesterday, in, err.. Brick..ing... up... it's not Bingingup, it is something else. Anyway. Their place is a vineyard cellar door thing, on a laaaarge property (as these things tend to be.) So after a short while we decided to go adventurin' around the property, on QUAD BIKES! They had a big one with a trailer, and two little ones.
The Quad bike was a little difficult to control at first (it wanted to go into the fence!) and I was a bit afraid to go at top speed because of the whole fence magnetism thing. But after looking around the vineyards, and passing a headless chicken and a headless crow on a post - fox trap - we went to this big paddock at the back of the property and then it was BURN OUT TIME. So we raced up and down the paddock, around the big dead tree (over rocks... haha!) and tried to.. er... drift, yes that's it. Because there is long slippery grass and lots of plants and stuff. I didn't quite get the hang of it then, but I did go pretty fast and swerve around and stuff. Then we biked back down to the house for lunch, and wine tasting!
Their wine was really very nice. I'm not really a wine-ey person so I don't remember the names of the wines, and I don't normally like wine but this was quite pleasant. Got a liittle happy off've the tasting, then lunch was served! (It worked out really well actually.)
After lunch we went to a paddock next to the house for more Quad Biking, went up to full speed on each one of the two Quads (the yellow one is the fun one! because its tyres are the baldest!), discovered while racing around the paddock that there's an invisible ditch and did an amazing surprise jump (not bad for someone who's never used a Quad bike before!) (then went around and did it again, deliberately!).
After a while Gavin and Frank (the dentist who Gavin used to share a house with, a cool guy) discovered a little side paddock which had SUPERIOR burn out, drift and swerve grass! The blades were circular in section. And it was very green. So I did some amazing burn outs, and snaked around the fence posts that were just chillin' in the ground. Gavin did a wheelie and fell on the ground with the bike vertical... I didn't explain it well but it was funny.
So yeah. Quad bikes are the best fun ever and I want one.
Which adds another item to my list of "things I want that are cheap for what they are but I still can't afford." (New Quad bikes of about the size we were using are only about $1800.. in Bunbury anyway)
And now I have milo in my Scooby Doo mug, and all is right with the world. Naked Empire is really good. I just wish I had more time to sit and just read, and that I had all the books in the series at my disposal. And that the series didn't have an end. Cry cry. You know I've been reading these books (re-reading, really. Naked Empire is the first one that I haven't read before) since Christmas? There are plural books. I probably would be further along if I hadn't been doing stuff (I think I've been getting through books slower than I used to), but you know, that's okay with me.
FISH NOTICE: All the baby Kribensis have been eaten! SO people I promised Kribs to will have to wait until the next spawn. Hopefully by then they will be in my new tank, so they will grow up to be all awesome. Sorry to disappoint!
I seem to be doing well enough with my uni efforts this semester, but I can't help but think that all the stress is getting to me. I've been randomly sick two weeks in a row now. Maybe. I really have been losing track of weeks, too. For example, on Friday I exploded with random death and pain. Saturday when I woke up I felt fine, but as soon as I tried to get out of bed I felt really dizzy and nauseous. Head-spin, couldn't - walk - straight dizzy. That lasted most of the day, until I thought to have a Nurofen. The other effects of stress seems to be a lot of hate, towards everything. I have been snappy and bad tempered to people who have nothing to do with my stress, and it's not nice. Yet I can be really really happy at other times.
So yeah. Academic success = Insanity?
MAYBE.
Oh, and group assignments are an absolute bitch, and I don't care what anyone says. Some parts can be fun, some parts can result in feelings of accomplishment, some parts can make you want to kill yourself and everyone around you (in the opposite order).1
Studio is going well though. Every time I speak to Emiliano he seems to be impressed and these days he only has minor suggestions to change my layout for the better. He likes my drawing style, concept, sustainable design ideas and all that jazz. And my CAD drawing ability! (Thankyou, ADTC Architects!)
History is theoretically going well. I've done a lot of reading for my essay topic, but not that much writing. In past experience this has proven to be a trap, since you end up with more ideas than things to say about your topic. I have to be careful with this one, too, because it would be easy to approach it as a history topic rather than an Architectural History topic. It's a pity - approaching it as a history topic would be waay more interesting.

I have started using a new shampoo! I used it once when I was at my Aunty's house in NSW in February and it made my hair so silky and shiny I had to try it again. It's Loreal Elvive, and it says some crap about using the "pearl protein" that "give natural pearls their brilliant shine and resistance." The "proven results" include "mirror shine" and "cashmere touch," and so far that's worked and that's all I care about. As for the mystical "pearl protein"? I'm not so sure. I mean, they list a bunch of chemical-sounding things for the ingredients, and who knows if anything is even remotely derived from pearls. I'm sceptical - but are they allowed to say that they have used "pearl protein" if they haven't? Even if it's highly unlikely that anyone would notice or care, as long as it works?
It also smells good, and the bottles are shiny. SO I rate it a success!
You know what would be awesome?

I should really make sure I only start typing after I have something to say, huh?
