ithika: (that's what a ship is [POTC])
A Tycho moment!

Yeah, that's right, I'm now too lazy to come up with my own subject lines. I figure the Smashing Pumpkins are more than good enough to supply such things...

Anyway! Happy Australia Day. I hope you all have a good one, whether you're Australian or not [and also whether you're in the country or not].. Hope nobody else is working, even though it's only 6 hours it still makes me a little annoyed, because had I been working just an hour earlier in the day, [thus finishing an hour earlier, which is my point] I would have been able to go see fireworks. Now, you see, I love fireworks... So it's a little dissapointing. But! The eeevening [no, I don't know why I did that] is going to be fun anyway. ^_^

Ooh, Monday, Monday should make you all proud of me - While just Richard and I were working, waiting for Tash to come in, I put on Donnie Darko, because I could. I did have to fast forward the dining table scene, you all know the one. Heh. So! I spread the goodness for... er, how long is the movie? 2 and a half hours? But yes. And it made the 4 hour shift pass quickly, heheh.

The information night at the University was quite inspirational, and useful, as I finally decided what the hell I'm doing, heheh. As it happens, I still changed a few small things... mehh. It's all happy... I also have many brightly coloured papers. Whee! [....]

So, today (er, yesterday - Tuesday)
for the record, today, "Tuesday" is my favourite looking word I enrolled at the Uni, and it took literally hours. It was fun, though. Hah! I have a number again... I'll have it memorised soon, just you wait. *shakes finger* [I don't know why I did that...] And I collected still more multitudous coloured papers, a very funky Guild Diary, a Uni Student card [more fun than my St Brigid's one by far] and the beginnings of a very large debt. Whooo!
No really, it's cool.

Oh, I know what I'm spending my new-earnt large wad-o-cash on - if I pay $500 up front towards my HECS debt I get 20% off the registered retail price the fee, so, I think that's worth it. Despite the fact that yes, $500 is also an ipod, sword, or a quater of a laptop, I think that at the moment, this is the best thing to do with the money... Also, I have another $100 that I'm going to spend on a Big Day Out ticket (which I'm attending, by the way), yay. ^_^ *dances* So I once again have no mon-eh.
On the up side, David [manager at work] hasn't given me all those extra hours in Feb, (I'm back to Friday 5-10 and Sat 11-8) as he promised, which makes me glad. But it's not going to help my concience when I ask to only work Tuesdays and Fridays or maybe Fridays and Sundays, or Tuesdays and Sundays for reasons that are really more selfish than, shall we say... educationally necissary.
But, in all seriousness, it's unfair to expect me to close on Friday and then work from the morning of Saturday into the evening of Saturday... Which is something I was told I'd never have to do in my first day at work, by the way. [HA!]
So... I don't think it's unfair. I would offer to do the same hours, just not on the same days. Say 5-10 Tuesday, 11-8 Sunday, that would be fine, and I would even hold back on the bitching about still getting minimum wage on a Sunday. I might start looking for other jobs that would be awesome, though. Although Video Ezy is awfully convenient, and easy, and I get free movies, it would be nice to earn a little more, because it would make it easier to work less and get something from it.
See, with my old hours, I'm working 14 hours a week and only getting $124... around $30 of which goes away to Tax. So practically I'm getting less than $100 a week... For, basically, the weekend. I guess it's not that bad, but, consider that when I was working at Kmart when I was 14, I was earning the same ammount... I'd rather earn, say, $10/hour. I know some people do at our age - I think [livejournal.com profile] armygeek gets something simmilar, I think, and then I'd get $140 a week, probably loose $35 to tax, but it would still be ok... Hm. Meh, I don't have to make decisions now...

But yes, I didn't mention it before, I don't think, but Mrs Morgan (our elderly widow of a neighbour) asked me to type up a story she wrote and offered to pay me $75... (and it wasn't even 9 pages...) Of course, I accepted it. Aand finishing it today I have that cash, although somehow my mum swindled me out of $25 of it... hm. But it matters not, because I now have enough left over to buy a BDO ticket [I left ~$50 from my earnings for spendage, that is... I didn't put all of my money towards HECS... because that would be stupid]... but even so, I'm going to have to borrow money from my mum to go out tomo... er, today (Australia Day), tomorrow (Thursday) and Sunday... haha, it is funny. Because if I start withdrawing from my bank account we all know I won't be able to stop myself in Empire Toys, and I'll have Aragorn's Ranger Sword before you know it and only 2 weeks [give or take] to somehow accumulate a new $500... which would be bad. Heh.

I'm fairly content right now, in life and things, I mean. It's a good feeling.
*makes fairy sounds* <-- the sounds small children make when playing dress-ups by themselves.
Shut up, it's cute.

I think I'll go now, and things.

Ghan, out. I'll take this opportunity to point out that on walkie-talkies and other two-way radios, saying "Over and out" is completely wrong, and that any movie or TV show that shows actual professional users of said devices saying so is filled with filthy lies.
Why? Because "Over" means "It's your turn to speak" and "Out" means "I'm turning off my radio now"
Thus "Over and Out" = "It's your turn to speak, but I'm not listening."
