Saw, as most people within their right minds would be able to predict, Secret Window, with [in order of appearance]
grey_assassin,
uruserce and
ewanz_faerie.
As it so happens,
ewanz_faerie is the Arcade Gaming Queen.
Secret Window, though, was really rather good. In order to grade it's goodness, consider this: I bought a 1.25l bottle of coke in with me. I didn't drink up to the top of the label due to being engrossed in the film.
And, I strongly sympathise with Mort. Will most definately have to find a copy of and read that Novella.
But, the one scene [and I can say it here because it gives nothing away] that I decided finally "yes! what a champion"
is when Mort says "Sloth" as he lies back down to return to sleep. Can't remember if he says "now, where was I" beforehand, but, nevertheless.
Twas a good day.
And, then I went to work. Oh, hu-zzaaaah.
but it wasn't too bad.
Also, after work, watched preveiw tape, containing Big Fish and OUATIM. [Thus explaining my unsettling absence from internet last night]
Adored Big Fish.
I can't remember where, but someone described it as being very Burton, and I have to agree. All of his films have a touch of that to them, and it's certainly a positive feature. Liked it because it's very fairy-tale, very fanciful. I like imaginative, fairy-tale, simple stories. Stories that you'd either think up or blindly believe in as an ickle hobbit. I'd say that Big Fish and Edward Scissorhands are the two movies with the most of that so far, that I've seen.
Must commend your beloved's preformance in that,
ewanz_faerie*claps* 'E was very good.
And, it made me cry. Damn emotions! Damn tears!
Another reason that I like the story. I like bittersweet endings. [Again, shares a feature with Edward Scissorhands]
Really loved the scene with the feild of daffodils, and that stupid guy, and the girl. You know the one. Trying not to say too much, as I know some people haven't seen it and want to.
But yes. So buying the DVD when it comes out. So am.
