I'm going to write a story that will amuse me.
I'm not sure if it's going to be silly yet, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to take myself seriously long enough for it to be anything but. See, the main character will have the last name "Wolfstride"
I'm farily sure this'll end up silly because when I was asking myself why she had such a funny last name my string of thoughts was something like "because she's an orphan with no last name, who lives in the forest, raised by wolves!"
I was going to take her seriously but I can't now. I think I will have to throw the name away, but that was all the story had going for it. Poo.

(To be honest, I think it has a good ring to it... but to be more honest, any excuse to tie wolves into a story is a great thing in my opinion.)

I was toying with the notion that she fancies herself a nature-bee, and perhaps she actually is an orphan, ooh, or a huntress, and as she has no last name to go by, it sort of reflects her trade. Perhaps she hunts with wolves. Of course, the wolves will be clever wolves, because fantasy story wolves are clever, as a rule.
But Trent's comment rings just as true. Heheh.

As I said before... my main thought about this story is that it is a silly and pretentious idea, so I'll indulge myself...
Somehow, she can talk to wolves, perhaps, or even take the form of a wolf. Perhaps she is a wolf in human form, though that is a little too Eddings for me. If she was "raised" by wolves, it'd be by some Matriarch wolf who's had contact with humans and saved the babe from some grisly fate (perhaps a puma... I like big cats...) but not the parentals. Then! In the black of a early-winter night, the wolf carries the baby to some place, and leaves her in the care of humans. Though that is a little too Jungle Book, and then how does she know of her canine roots? I can't seem to just let things go, as it were... even if I think I'm being pretentious and silly.
Perhaps she hunts with wolves. Being a huntress, or some kind of beast-handler, that would be most appropriate. Of course, they're smart wolves. Perhaps she prides herself on her connection to them, and likens her skill in her trade to the skill of a wolf in the hunt.
Or something.

Sounds like you have too many trouser-legs for the one universe there. =D

Perhaps. :P but I'm sure when I have to write something this idea will refused to be silenced. I doubt I'll use any of those though. She would fit in well with a hero named Stag though. Hm. Something is happening. Oh! Her first name is Rand. I was thinking "Random-name" Then I looked at "Random" and decided that "Rand Wolfstride" would be a spectacular name for a character with, as yet, no other attributes whatsoever.
Heh.

For Warlock story, I decided that there would be one character called Petra Rose. Then I had to decide on who she actually was. Names are funny things, aren't they?
Ooh, lots of puns you could make on 'rend'.

It is indeed funny.
Hehe. I hadn't thought of that. Brilliant!
