I find pidgeons riotously funny.
Jan. 1st, 2005 11:01 pmHappy New Year, people! It's that time of year again, that time of hope and dreams and secret aspirations, that time when everyone feels the slate is wiped clean, or feel nothing at all because they're passed out from drunken/tiredness...
But it is strange. 2004 was possibly the fastest and most challenging year of my life. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it, I'm merely observing the bizareness of how quickly it dissapeared. It never seemed to take a long time for events to appear, and to pass. Even the TEE seemed to pass quickly, even while it was happening. Very odd.
It was a good year.
New Years Eve was alright, despite working. Work is begining to cause deep iritation, mainly because I hate Stupid Owner Man with a fiery passion. Irritation. But the people I work with are nice enough. Mehh. Would appreciate more than the minimum wage, though. Particuarly on public holidays. But I'm not here to talk about work.
After work, watched fight between Hector and Achillies (as Dad and brother were watching Troy). I like that movie. Will buy when on Ex-rental. Then went to Glogriuvhb Park with my mum because of fireworks. Considered stalking people I knew would be there but decided against it because they were all inside and I was too cheap/lazy to go in and seek them out.
Fireworks were impressive, and went for 20 minutes. Couldn't help thinking that the millions of dollars spent on that display could easily have been sent to those suffering from the Tsunami The final two displays set off one car's alarm, twice. It was funny. There were many happy drunken people. Hah. Decided to walk to river, in order to.. walk to river. Started off as search for toilet. It was ardous. This was when the replies to my lovely new years message started coming in. Haha. It was here that I noticed that instead of saying "Perth CBD" my phone told me I was in "Happy 2005." After a few moments of confusion (I have never heard of the suburb "Happy 2005") I found this to be quite cute. [Note: Humor.] But it did really say "Happy 2005". It was cool. Penny Arcade is fun. But that's not the story I'm telling.
Walked a long way. To Casino, then, realising had traveled in entirely the wrong direction, headed for the bell tower. Felt awesome by walking against the wind in trenchcoat, although also very hot. Leather does not breathe.
Noticed many funny sleeping seaguls, and a lone, one-footed Pidgeon, which spawned this latest idea for a comic:
Pidgeons Are Hillarity
Smae: *watching pidgeon bob and walk and stuff* Haha.. Pidgeons are the funniest birds ever.
*Pidgeon walks closer*
Smae: Haha, pidgeon.
*Pidgeon pecks ground*
Smae: Aww.. it's cute. *throws crumbs for pidgeon*
*Pidgeon looks up at Smae*
Pidgeon: Give me your soul.
Smae: *....*
That was... weird.
... Thankyou, Thankyou, you're too kind. Where was I? Oh yes, the dark palm tree-ey shore of the murky swan (far inferior to the ocean)... made it to a hotel where very manly men were singing manly man songs. They had words at this point. Found toilet. Was disgusting. Never... never again.
On way out manly man-things were singing Advance Australia Fair. By the time we'd made it to the road we were crossing it had regressed to "La la la's". Cannot tell whether this was due to drunkenness or not, as so few people actually know the lyrics to the National Anthem... Hah. I do. No. I will not demonstrate said knowledge.
Walked some more. Gavin said he was at the Casino, so decided to visit and say hi. Had to get car first. Car was accosted by idiot drunken boy-thing. Car won.
Hahah... haaaah.
Sitting good.
Took long time to find Gavin, as he assumed I knew where things were in the Casino (or rather outside of it), but, due to the charitable charitability of strangers, was guided in the right direction. Called Ma'am by door...man... thing... was pleasing. Will demand it in future when world is Mine. Was very nice of Gavin to leave friends inside Casino to say hi.
Am going on Leeuwin twilight sail and shipkeep. Will be good. Good.
Sometime next week I'll be organizing a new years gathering. Details pending... I'm thinking Thursday. So! BE PREPARED!!
Then went home. Determined not to go to sleep before light on New Years Day, watched Meet Joe Black. It was very sad.
Slept.
Went to work at 2pm after wakening at 12. Bad. Didn't want to be there at all. Had soo many ideas for drawing, which are gone now. :(
Now am here... and that is all.
I stole this from
uruserce because I met no resistance.
1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?: Sailed a Tall Ship, sat the TEE...
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?: I don't remember my new years resolution, if I had one. Hah... I am so bad.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?: No
4. Did anyone close to you die?: No

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?: That freaky satelite that I swear was not of this world! Mainly because it was so goddamned cold.
Seriously though, climbing the main mast and seeing the message. I'll never forget that.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?: Maintaining the self discipline that it took to actually study properly, and then getting TER of 85.3
9. What was your biggest failure?: I'm not sure. I do'nt think I put enough effort into the Watson Arts thing. So I'll say that.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?: Surprisingly few.
11. What was the best thing you bought?: Trenchcoat. I think. There might have been something better.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?: Zuko, I think. Others as well.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?: a few people that came from surprising places.
14. Where did most of your money go?: Leeuwin. And then... random stuff!
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?: Uhm, I'm not sure. I have been deleriously happy, but that's not the point. I'll say Leeuwin, although that was more of a constant looking-forward-to than a really really excitedness.
16. What song will always remind you of 2004?: I don't know...
17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?: Happier. Much, much happier
ii. Richer or poorer?: Richer
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?: Not sure... no, I don't really know. I know there are things.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?: again, not sure.Guess I'm not big on regrets.
20. How did you spend Christmas?: With family, fearing crayfish and talking about things.
22. Did you fall in love in 2004?: No
23. How many one-night stands?: None
24. What was your favourite TV program?: Stargate : SG1
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?: I don't do hate. Far too lazy.
26. What was the best book you read?: As far as read for the first time is concerned, I'd have to toss a coin between Cloudstreet and Heart Of Darkness
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?: Hmm... I'm not sure. Not really anything I hadn't listened to before this year. I might say Greenday. But I listened to them before.
28. What did you want and get?: A doomsday devi... I mean... a few things.. not limited to and including a trenchcoat
29. What did you want and not get?: Uuuhm, I don't know... I'm not very good at this, but I don't have everything I want.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?: Excluding the obvious... I will say Fight Club. Or, "of this year" as in "released 2004", Once Upon A Time In Mexico
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?: 17, had friends over for movie night of doom and coke.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?: World domination.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?: Self.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?: Johnny Depp is cool. But then, so is Jhonen Vasquez. So cool. So... cool. Yes.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?: *snorts* Innane. So so inane.
37. Who did you miss?: Sirius.
Actually, I don't know.
38. Who was the best new person you met?: Ooh, the Best New Person... haha..
hmm.
I didn't meet any new school people, for the record. So, if you think you should be this, you might have been last year, had I done this, which I didn't.
I will say Gavin.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004: Sometimes you have to trust people.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: I couldn't decide on just one, so... Here is a conglomerate... Oh, I can't be bothered. Here's one line or two or three from each song, because I'm soo lazy
Flashlight riveries caught in the headlights of a truck Now, what do you own the world? How do you own disorder, disorder Now somewhere between the sacred silence Sacred silence and sleep But we all bleed the same way as you do And we all have the same things to go through Hold on if you feel like letting go Hold on it gets better than you know Don’t stop looking you’re one step closer Don’t stop searching it’s not over Everything you say to me Takes me one step closer to the edge And I’m about to break I need a little room to breathe ’cause I’m one step closer to the edge And I’m about to break All these thoughts they make no sense I find bliss in ignorance Hope lies in the smoldering rubble of empires Back through the shanties and the cities remains same bodies buried hungry But with different last names These vultures rob everyone Leave nothing but chains Pick a point here at home And the picture’s the same Existence is purpose Explain what my touch means to you if it does
Featured: "Toxicity" - System Of A Down, "Hold On" - Good Charlotte, "One Step Closer" - Linkin Park, "Relapse" - Little Birdy and that IS ALL
Until next time.
