I've just come up with that little psuedo-sketchy-type thing, and I's proud of it. :D
It eventuated due to the large amount of LOTR RPing that I've been doing. [Ahahahah, Neopets forums.. lalala]
But anyway, my Return of the King quota is now fulfilled - I can go without seeing it in cinemas... without dying... now.
Of course, any reasons to go and see said movie-to-end-all-movies, will be greatly welcomed. With confetti. And imaginary trebuchets.
But anywhoo, went into city with Caketin and Sarah and Sarah's hobbit-sister today. T'was fun. :)
Sarah liked the movie. Very much. Found it very emotional, and I quote "From the minute that Boromir gets hit by the arrows until the end of the movie I could't stop crying!"
Poor thing. That's a solid... at least 3 hours of crying. O.o
But. I was thinking about it, today, and last night [as you do]
Oh yes, I saw it last night as well.. which would be the reason for my lack-o-entries, if anyone noticed... hehe.
But anyway...
I was thinking of reasons [beyond the obvious...] that I adored this movie so so much...
1) The pure emotive..ness... of it... I've seen it 5 times now [woohoo! Obligatory ROTK quota], and certain scenes give me goosebumps, without fail, every time.
The number-one scene of wow-ee would be the.. well, I guess it's the true begining of the battle of the Pelennor. When you hear the horns of Rohan calling out while you're in Minas Tirith, and then you look to the... *thinks of the situation of Minas Tirith* East, and there are the Rohirrim, that's sooo cool. Horns are pretty-sounding. We have one... I'll try and find it, and then I'm going to try and figure out how to make it sound. Then, for the same... no, more... [ooh, I so gramatical] wow-emotive ness, is when Theoden says... the emotive thingy. Ah, I can't believe I've forgotten it... I knew it right up until I tried to write it down. Ugh.
But anywhoo, the charge of the Rohirrim absolutely rocks.
Other moments of wowzers are:
Ithilien. The last-stand-ness. It makes me sad. Authentically so.
The Witch King of Angmar and Minas Morgul.
Wow... sooo cool. Beyond words. Finally, some Nazgul-terror on screen :)
"Release the prisoners..."
"Catapults!"
I remember that scene.. vividly... from the book. Not those exact words, but what happened directly after, ye?
"Don't go where I can't follow" [even if I knew the truth, my poor little Samwise was so sad..]
Basically the whole movie.. oh, and the paths of the dead was worryingly cool.
OOH! And GORBAG! *cheers* He was the only Orc I ever liked... well, not liked, just tollerated. You see. Gorbag and Shagrat. Of course, I don't like Shagrat. But he dies. Hrm, unfortunately, so does Gorbag, but I feel you're missing the point entirely...
Oh, and we can't forget Eowyn and the Nazgul.
[I know I'm missing alot of accents on these letters.. and others in this entry.. but I really can't be bothered going all the way to character map continually.. so just *know* they're there]. Coolcoolcool, cool cool.
*waits patiently for EE*
Oooh, and the "Come on you sea-rats... *blink* oh dear"
Though I don't know what that orc's complaining about, being slain by Anduril would be pretty cool... compared to, eh, dying in a trivial dispute with another orc or by the army of the dead.
And "The Eagles! The Eagles are coming!" Because that was one of my special-book-fan-moments. Woohoo for Gwahir the Windlord!
Even though I'm not sure it was meant to be that way, I'm a leetle sad they didn't have some reference to "and his eyes saw no more" because, upon my first reading, that sent me into hysterics. But there's always the Extended Edition *grins*
Ooh, and the White Rider scene, because.. come on, everyone's a Gandalf fan.
And the fact that the men of Gondor called Gandalf Mithrandir. Even if he's not a Grey Pilgrim anymore, they did so in the book, so I's a happy chicken.
And the beacon scene. Because I was never 100% sure on how they worked, so it was a super cool scene. And aside from that, the beacons were super cool.
Uhm... and... Shelob. She was pretty allright, but I didn't get that scared by her. A pity. But I probably wouldn't have anyway, because I have no fear of spiders at all... ripped off.
Eomer is super cool
The Grey Havens are beautiful. *pause* as one would expect...
---
Ooh, Elladan and Elrohir were 2, 889 years old at the time of the destruction of the Ring and the downfall of Sauron. And nobody has any idea how old Legolas is.
---
And I think that's enough ranting for now. Assuredly, there's more to come.
...
GUH! Master and Commander will NOT steal Oscars from Return of the King *snarls*
*narrows eyeses*
