Today has been incredibly counter-productive. Interestingly, it wasn't wild-tangent counter-productive. Shall we say that the subject provided it's own distraction.
Yes! I spent the whole day reading Ovid's Metamorphoses, which I don't even need to know for the exam. Sigh. It's ridiculous. Bleargh!
I came up with a story behind Faerie finally. I don't remember where the idea came from.

The afterlife of humanity is a strange one. So stubborn are they that
they do not become one with eternity, as is the practise of all other
things that live and die. No. By the virtue of their intelects and the
vice of their stubornness, angels and daemons rose from that swirling
well of all that was and will be to govern the souls of humanity.
These
guardians, much like humans, are governed by emotion. It is a proof of
their humanity that daemons exist at all - no other creatures care for
hate or vengeance, nor do other beings have a capacity for, or concept
of, evil. The Arch-Angels, seraphs, and arch-daemons, _____ (?), govern
themselves, but are ever-bound to the whims of humanity.
So it was
that Faerie came into being. For all their intelect, humanity seems
doomed to committing terrible and greivous wrongs and errors.
Because
there is no one divinity as humans so stubbornly believe, but simply
the great well and all that is the afterlife of humanity, the laws
humans impose upon themselves bind their Angels and Daemons. Such as
the Catholic belief for many years that anyone unbaptised goes straight
into the fiery abyss of hell. Of course, this rule did not apply to
those of other religions, but to those of Catholic lineage, the price
was dear. And so it was that all stillborns, or after-birth deaths, or
little unbaptised children, innocent of evil, were fed to the greedy
maws of the Daemons.
Of course, the Seraphs were outraged.
Arch-Seraph, overlord of Angels, came near to a fall in his tourment.
Even the (arch-daemons) were made uncomfortable by the mindless
condemnation of innocent souls. Watching its denizens growing fat and
complacent, the arch-(arch-daemon) sought council with Arch-Seraph, and
together they agreed that those children's souls deserved vengeance. No
other terms were defined, as the arch-(AD) was wily and cunning while
Arch-Seraph was tourmented and wearied with sorrow. So, the embodiment
of this punishment of humanity was a Daemon, with no angelic features
to be found.
The bi-planar daemon Faerie was, from the start,
imbued with wrath and hatred. His loathing for all forms of being was
shocking, even among the daemons, who he slew and devoured as it
pleased him. Fortunately, he was not as swift in flight as the seraphs,
for he could easily have winked their light from existance.
Faerie, though, can only switch planes when he is anchored to a human, whom by the virtue of that bond is protected from him. The person he's anchored to has to be a person who isn't bound to enter the presence of angels or daemons at the end of their life, but instead the Great Well.
MOOOOO. I totally lost my poetic voice at the end of that. But that's okay, the voice was a little lame. I don't care. It's writ now. Writ. Heeee. I drew a mad picture of Faerie, with craaazy crosshatching. Will scan later and put on DA.
I payed things! Well, yesterday. Like my Amenities and Services fee ($60) and payed for this ($65.91 including postage and handling).
*contented sigh* I can't think of any other debts I have at the mome... 'sept for that stupid lay-by. Gah! (the top is pretty though. So pretty.)
I have no more thingies to say. Wednesday was 10 months with Gavin. It is a happy thing. I didn't mention it at the time because I didn't want to. I will now though, becuase I do.
