It's kind of amazing.
I'm listening to the four songs that didn't make it onto Diorama, but did make it as B-sides: Pins in My Needles, Asylum, Hollywood, and Ramble. They're all pretty good. Some of my favourites. Pins in My Needles might be my favourite Silverchair song? Maybe? It's still hard to pick, even After All These Years (capitalised for pun highlighting! Wait, it's not a pun, is it? Er, for that thing which I just did.)

I don't have much to talk about these days. I am pretty boring. Oh wait!
On Saturday I got my ear cartilage pierced again (Helix piercing, two of 'em), AND I brought those shoes from Redstripe that I posted a few days ago, maybe? I can't remember if I posted that. Anyway they're rad.

So now I have to do 10 minute saline bath things twice a day (at least!) for the next four to six weeks. Phew! I think that if it's nice on the weekend I should go swimming in the beach, since I can literally see it right now as I am typing even though the sun is down. Because the moon is shining! Pretty. Wait, no, that's the reflection of the ceiling light on the glass doors. I knew that. I can see lights shining on the horizon though, and their reflections. So I still don't lie. I think I'm at the wrong angle for it to be Garden Island. It must be a big boat.

My fish tank is full of algae. not the good kind, if there is a good kind - it looks kind of like muddy brown cobwebs in my tank. Next week I'm going to buy some Cherry Shrimp to eat the Algae, but I'll have to relocate my Peppermint Bristlenoses while I do this so that they don't commit shrimpocide. Oh, the trial that is hobbyist fishkeeping! I wish I still had that nano tank I lent1 to Jas a million years ago, and never got back :(,2 because it had a filter and it would be perfect for propagating shrimp in. This is apparently very very easy. And cherry shrimp are PRETTY!

Geeez, I really feel like I'm not on top of things this semester. I feel pretty behind in Tech. Studio is kind of ok, and I suppose that's the main one. Prof Prac seems to be going well, but! I always feel uneasy with subjects I think I'm doing well in, unless they're history subjects. Odd. Anyway, I think that getting a Mac was probably a mistake. Oh well, it's done now. I'm downloading, among other things, VM Ware Fusion tonight during Off Peak Tiem, so hopefully it will get a bit less painful to use architecture software. I feel like I've forgotten how to use CAD. I'm trying to learn Revit but the goddamn tutorials aren't working... I'm re-downloading/installing them tonight, too. God.

I cooked Chicken & Almonds today. It was pretty good. A recipe I used to cook a lot in Bunbury. It's pretty simple but it makes sooo many dishes. Worst thing. Ever. Almonds are expensive too. Bah!
On the other hand, fresh Celery! I need something to eat it with, I always used to have it with cheese when I was a kid, and now I can't. Or peanut butter, but I don't have any peanut butter and frankly it still hasn't been long enough since Europe for me to want to go there. (Peanut butter is great and all, BUT, every lunch almost for nearly 7 months, and sometimes breakfast, and sometimes dinner, and you wouldn't be super-keen either.3)
Or is it Peanut Paste, and Peanut Butter is American? Butter is probably American. Damn! Curse you, Sesame Street childhood! You make me say "Z" and "Zebra... oh wait, no. I say "Z" "Zee", but I say "Zebra" "Zeh-bra", not "Zee-bra." What a weirdo. But either way, I'm sure Sesame Street taught me lots of crazy things. For example, I remember calling rectangles OBLONGS in Pre-Primary and the teacher putting a stop to that malarky. If malarky is even a word - if it's not, I think it's onomatopoeic enough to be self-explanatory.
I mean, OBLONG: what the hell kind of word is that? It certainly wouldn't go down too well in an architectural dialogue: "Well, in an attempt to be more like Ando, who uses primarially OBLONGULAR forms and crisp, uniform shapes, I have eliminated all non-OBLOTILINEAR shapes."
Ok, that sentence wouldn't be great even if I was using sensible, rectilinear words, rather than oblongular ones. But god, actually oblongular and oblotilinear are pretty fucking fantastic sounding words.
Still, it's smacks dangerously of the Imperial System.

Whe-he-heeeelll, I think I've bored you all for long enough!

1Is that really how you spell it? It's not a word I use much and to me it looks like what you do leading up to Chocolate HolidayEaster.

2It's my fault too, because I never asked for it back. I guess! :( I could just buy another, better (?) one with my Fish Credz. But I don't want to own ANOTHER tank. Yet.

Photos are very large, and unsized. I will fix tomorrow, or rather later today, but for now I SLEEEP.

Right. Right. Right.
So, as I'm sure many of you are aware due to the long duration of my Silverchair fandom (like ten years now, five in Seriuz Modez), that my favourite band of all time is Silverchair. You might be aware that I went to a concert of theirs at Belvoir Ampitheatre in 2003 (I believe) for their Across the Night Tour, and that it was completely awesome. I went and saw them again (last year??) at Rock It in Joondalup, and I had me a ticket for Silverchair's Young Modern tour for their Sunday 6th May gig at Metropolis Freo this year. I believe if you were to look for them, you'd find entries on those gigeroos. In fact, I will attempt to hook you up with some links, yo.

So anyway. Gig last night (or, considering it is now officially Tuesday, Sunday night), was awesome. Possibly better than the Belvoir gig in that I had a better place in the crowd, the stage was actually much smaller and more "...intimate," and we got an encore because there was no gigantic insane lightning storm (the most intense that March had ever seen, in fact!) which caused the power to die (but not before they managed to finish their official set, yay. :))

I know I didn't get into the juicy details AGAIN
but I really have to sleep. I promise to write it down tomorrow. (It will happen, because I don't want to lose stuff. See?)

Tonight, I got a photo with Ben Gillies.
I'll write more later, as I said, but I thought I would share the photo. There's also a photo of my autographed set list (all the band members - Daniel's autograph is the top, Ben's is the bottom left and Chris' is the bottom right) from last night.
I'll take a photo of my autographed Young Modern and put that up tomorrow, too.
So what if I'm fangirling? )

Also omg omg omg I have awesome friends.
More on THAT later too

I really have to sleep
I am sorry for disappointing you, beloved readers

Stop being so good at assisting procrastination!!!

since we all know I'm procrastinating, we may as well do it right, right?

So, what, you may ask, has the Ghan been up to? ZOMG SO MUCH.

Right. So I have a few awesome assignments: (No sarcasam here, folks)
1. Master Plan assignment - Studio
Basically, 1xA1 drawing of the town of Kendenup and surrounds, plan
6xA4 "emotive images" of places in the town of Kendenup

2. Digital Design Media - make awesome stuff using 3D software
- Pretty much done, I just have to whack it into InDesign and make it all pretty like.

LESS AWESOME assignment
1. Essay Abstract - Architecture Modern History

That's right!
For the first time in recorded history, history is Ghan's least favourite subject. I'm as stunned as you are. More stunned, I should imagine.
So what we've learnt here is that it's absolutely true that a bad lecturer and worse tutor can suck the life from an otherwise excellent subject.
Sucks the life out of it like a slug being vaccumed from it's shell.

Silverchair's new album is totally awesome. It's very different, but I don't mind. It's funky and it doesn't take itself too seriously. I think it's a lot more resolved than their previous stuff, and that Daniel's voice is a lot stronger and more interesting. However, I don't like (shock) how he seems to have commandeered the band: you never hear a whit from Ben and/or Chris anymore, and this makes me think Dan the Man Johns is getting a wee bit... creatively arrogant, perhaps? I mean okay, so it might be warranted arrogance but still. The band is very much the Daniel Johns show now. However! I don't think Ben and Chris would still be in the band if they didn't like it, and I guess it's not like it's a new thing. Eh!
The whole thing is on the interwebs, if anyone is interested: I'm aware Myspace is the Devil (new window). I'm a get me a copy on Saturday.

Art Nouveau is freaking awesome.

I have ideas for no less than 4 (four) shirts! I will be posting piccurs which I have made up here soon, because I want to. However.. not today! Um.

I haven't moved my computer clock back to REAL TIME, to see if it would help me go to sleep at a more reasonable time.
It doesn't.

I'm doing the BodyPump class at the UWA Gym. It's lots of fitness fun. At the moment I'm planning on going at 4 on Mondays, 12 on Tuesdays, 5 (body combat) on Wednesdays or 6, and at 4 on Thursdays.
Probably not every day, all the time, but I'm planning on joining the gym (because now I'm back at uni, and who am I kidding, at all other times as well, the majority of my day is nothing but lazing around, and I would so like to be more fit), and after that I'm planning to go every day.

So if anyone's interested (classes are $7 for guild members, and er, I think $10 for non-guildies), drop me a commento! :)

I have to go now, however.
I don't actually know whether this year is actually harder, or if I'm just stressing out more or what. But I've been doing more work, hmm.

Also, I've been completely exhausted all the time lately. I don't know what's up with that. But it's annoying. >:(

Finally: I want to organise Harry Potter 7 Things. Prz comment if you're interested and we can totally book!geek it up. :)
